The latest quarterly update of the Larimer County  2019 - 2023 Strategic Plan with the Board of Larimer County Commissioners included increasing collaboration and engagement that was paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Larimer County Boards and Commissions serve an important role in making recommendations to the Board of Larimer County Commissioners on a variety of important matters. Four boards have open seats to be filled: The Larimer County Fair Board, Rodeo Board, Agricultural Advisory Board, and Red Feather Lakes Planning Board.

The National Council for Mental Wellbeing today will recognize Larimer County for its extraordinary advocacy work during Hill Day at Home, the organization’s annual advocacy event to promote bipartisan solutions for mental health and substance providers and patients.

On October 12, 2021, the Larimer County Coroner’s Office responded to a death scene on Vardon Way in Fort Collins, Colorado.  The decedent has been identified as Reba Pitcher, age 91 of Fort Collins, Colorado.

Local governments, including Larimer County, continue to bear the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Larimer County has received the first of two payments totaling $69.5 Million in federal funding to address those impacts and aid recovery at the local level.

Larimer County Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally has been appointed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis and Colorado Department of Natural Resources Executive Director Dan Gibbs to serve on the Colorado Forest Health Council.

The Larimer County Department of Health & Environment and other local vaccine providers are now offering COVID-19 booster shots to eligible residents. CDC has issued new recommendations for the use of a single dose of the Pfizer vaccine to be given as a booster to those who completed an initial series (2 doses) of Pfizer vaccine at least 6 months ago.

On 09/23/2021, at 2248 hours, Larimer County Coroner's Office staff responded to the 1800 block of Cherokee Drive, Estes Park, to conduct a death investigation. The decedent was identified as Eric Rose, 61, of Estes Park, CO. A forensic autopsy was performed on 09/24/2021 by Michael A. Burson, M.D., PhD. 

Fall property assessment fieldwork begins in rural areas of Larimer County in late September and will continue to early December in the Estes Park area, Glen Haven, Drake, Red Feather Lakes, Crystal Lake, and Livermore.
