So grateful for their outstanding work
The Board of Larimer County Commissioners today recognized Larimer County Parks Rangers Lane Fahrenbruch and Colton Ackerly for a Lifesaving Award for their quick, life-saving response to a motorcyclist accident at Carter Lake recently.
After arriving on the scene and while performing an assessment, the rangers heard the motorcyclist complain of soreness in the neck area. Ranger Fahrenbruch was able to apply a cervical collar to the patient, medical attention, and get the individual transported to the hospital.
Paramedics later confirmed the services these Larimer County rangers provided likely saved the life of the person, and that their second cervical vertebra was broken. Had the person not received the proper treatment from these two rangers he would have likely become a quadriplegic or died.
“We’re just very grateful for your courageous work and your very competent work in saving someone’s life,” said Larimer County Commissioner John Kefalas.
“Thank you for your outstanding work and service. I am reassured to know you are out there taking care of our folks in our parks and open spaces,” said Larimer County Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally.
