Applications are now being accepted for an appointment to one seat on the Boxelder Basin Regional Stormwater Authority Board of Directors.

The Boxelder Basin Regional Stormwater Authority [BBRSA] is a government entity created in 2008 by Larimer County, the City of Fort Collins, and the Town of Wellington to control and reduce the potential for flooding in the Boxelder Basin. The deadline to apply is Sept. 8, 2021.

The BBRSA board seat is a joint appointment by Larimer County and the City of Fort Collins. Board members serve a three-year term. The board governs the BBRSA and oversees the design, construction, and maintenance of improvements; hiring of BBRSA contractors and staff; and setting the fees to be charged within the BBRSA service area.

Those interested in serving on the board should have general knowledge of stormwater and floodplain principles, engineering practices and construction of improvements, and financial responsibilities.

The BBRSA executes components of the approved Boxelder Stormwater Master Plan, including:

  • Planning, and establishing a financial structure to equally distribute the costs inside the BBRSA service area among property owners.
  • Planning and organizing the operation and maintenance of stormwater improvements and obtains any necessary stormwater quality permits.
