Environmental Program Manager on board
Heidi Pruess has joined Larimer County as its newest program manager.
The newly created position is an outcome of the 2019 – 2023 Larimer County Strategic Plan, goal to support the needs of our residents and visitors.
Objective Five under this goal speaks to the county’s desire to raise awareness of environmental responsibility. Pruess will lead a broad and inclusive community engagement process to gather input on strategies and actions the county could take to balance the protection of natural resources, long-term economic considerations and community needs.
With over 25 years of experience in environmental policy and community development, Pruess most recently served as Educator and Coordinator of Great Outdoors University, North Carolina Wildlife Federation. She also served as Community Plan and Sustainability Officer for Mecklenburg County, North Carolina which partnered with many entities to create a community sustainability plan, The Mecklenburg Livable Communities Plan, also known as Livable Meck.
Pruess will report to Larimer County Manager Linda Hoffmann. She started work on August 23.
