An assortment of items to be inserted into a time capsule at the site of the new Behavioral Health Services Campus were displayed at a ceremony on Dec. 6, 2021, with the Larimer County Board of County Commissioners in attendance.

The items signify our community’s awareness of behavioral health needs, which led to the voter-approved passage of an initiative for a Behavioral Health Services facility in Larimer County.

“It is essential for community health, well-being and resiliency, that everyone in our Larimer County community has access to quality and affordable behavioral health services from children up to older adults,” said Larimer County Commissioner John Kefalas.

Behavioral Health Services Director Laurie Stolen noted that campaign items, memorabilia from many partners who worked on the initiative, a photo album of news stories, and a copy of the master plan were just a few of the many other items to be included in the capsule.

“I want to thank the Larimer County voters, who voted to support this because without them we would not be here with these resources,” said Larimer County Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally.

The new facility will address the gaps that exist in behavioral health and to make those services more widely available for our community.

Construction is planned to begin this month at the site of the new facility.
