Ranch wins six international awards
The Larimer County Ranch Events Team was recognized for winning six awards at the International Association of Fairs and Exhibitions for the 2021 season held in November.
The team was recognized by the Board of Larimer County Commissioners at their regular administrative matters meeting on January 11th.
Selected from just over 1000 entries, most of the awards were associated with the annual Larimer County Fair.
The First-Place award was a first-year event not produced by facility staff --- the Tiny House Event, focusing on housing issues in our community. Over 30,000 attended the event. Tiny houses offer alternatives to traditional housing with much smaller total square footage.
“I’m super proud to know that this is not only a national but an international competition and that there were over 1,000 entries and knowing that we took so many top slots. That’s outstanding. I attended the tiny house event and was blown away by how many people were there,” said Larimer County Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally.
The Second First Place award was for the best newsletter by the Ranch marketing team for their monthly newsletter.
The four other awards were:
- Fair Barns Arena Layout changes that address capacity issues in the barns and better viewing areas for the public.
- The Larimer County Fair Coloring page, created to help promote virtual fair activities because of COVID restrictions
- A promotional guide was produced to encourage and develop new business at the Ranch Events Complex.
- Sensory Day --- an innovative event and exhibit allowing children and families with sensory issues to experience the Larimer County Fair without the fair open to the general public. Sensory day was a partnership with Carnival Americana, the provider of the carnival, vendors, food, and other booth operators.
