Climate Smart and Future-Ready: new name and website

Larimer County’s Climate Smart Program has a new title and new website.

The new Climate and Sustainability website describes an approach to managing climate and sustainability, internal and community-focused action plans, and how to engage and participate in the process.

The community plan has been rebranded as “Climate Smart and Future-Ready,” containing three phases:

• A framework that includes potential strategies to lessen the risks Larimer County faces from climate change.
• Community outreach and a recommendations report that prioritizes community strategies to establish a safe and sustainable future for Larimer County.
• During the next year, plan development to create partnerships and collaboration across Larimer County to execute those strategies into action.

Larimer County has also developed an internal Climate and Sustainability Plan focusing on mitigation efforts to reduce emissions that contribute to climate change, with adaptive efforts to become good stewards of our environment and resources for the future.
