Leslie is the Natural Resource Department's Human Resources Representative. She has a gift of working with people coming from a wide spectrum of backgrounds with her empathetic nature and ability to actively listen and engage in meaningful conversation.
In addition to her other HR duties, she is responsible for on-boarding up to 200 seasonal and temporary employees annually. She does her job very well, demonstrating the critical skills of organization and time management while keeping the primary focus on working with people and how best to support them.
Leslie always goes above and beyond to provide assistance wherever there is a need. Just recently she volunteered to be the back-up for ticket processing in addition to her full workload, which allowed our department to focus on our customers by shortening response time. Our customers appreciate her knowledgeable, approachable demeanor and having her support in that area has been an added asset to our team.
Recently, Leslie took the opportunity to lead our department’s participation in the annual Easter Seals Ability Day Event. She arranged for our Easter Seals participant, Abbey, to meet with several interesting people. Leslie’s enthusiasm was contagious and all who participated had a great time sharing their day with Abbey. Most importantly, Leslie showed this young woman that her hopes and dreams for the future were within her reach. Abbey, who already had a love for the outdoors and what we do, is now more excited about what may well be a possible future opportunity for her to gain employment.
Thank you, Leslie, for the good work you do representing the Department and the County, and for reaching out in our community to make a difference.
