Workforce Expansion, Support & Retention

Goal: To promote the expansion of and support for behavioral health providers by expanding the workforce, both hiring and retention, to reduce waitlists and increase the number of people served.

Impact Fund Grants in this targeted area should aim to:

• Invest in workforce expansion, recruitment, training, and retention. 
• Ensure cultural competence and linguistically accessible services.

Possible Strategies:

• Supportive mentorship with others in the field
• Free supervision for those working towards licensure
• Creating more levels of providers, increasing peer support professionals, expanding telehealth options, introducing culturally relevant trainings, and supporting recruitment efforts. 
• Training and Continuing Education for the workforce, including trauma-informed care for healthcare workers, resource navigators, and care coordinators.
