Head South 1/2 mile on Taft Hill Road and then West on Trilby Road for waste disposal, scrap metal, appliances, tires, green waste, and mattresses. Follow signs to the Central Diversion & Transfer Station.
*The current landfill entrance will remain open for commercial recycling haulers, household hazardous waste, electronics recycling, the education center, and the solid waste business office.
The Larimer County North Landfill (15669 North County Road 9, Wellington, CO 80549) will open on August 3rd, 2026, for commercial haulers, and residents who live in and near Wellington. Residents living within or near the city limits of Fort Collins and Loveland should use the Central Diversion and Transfer Station for disposal services.
We use and dispose of many batteries, and some can cause three to five fires per month at the Larimer County Solid Waste Facility.
