Pet Licensing Assistance Program for unincorporated Larimer County

To be eligible for the Larimer County free pet licensing, you must meet all of the following qualifications

  • Reside in unincorporated Larimer County
  • Be aged 62 or older
  • All pets must be spayed or neutered and up to date on rabies vaccination
  • Must meet income qualifications/guidelines

Step 2  

If you believe you meet the eligibility criteria, complete the Application For Pet Licensing Assistance Eligibility, as you may be eligible for a license for each pet at no charge.

  • You must renew on an annual basis.
  • The license fee will be paid by Larimer County.

  1. How Is Animal Control Handled In Unincorporated Larimer County?

    NOCO Humane is responsible for animal control in unincorporated Larimer County under a contract with the County. Their Animal Control Officers handle issues related to animal welfare and control, except for those involving County-approved pet facilities.

    • If you have questions about animal control, Code Compliance staff will direct you to NOCO Humane.

    • County Code Compliance staff handle complaints about illegal pet facilities.

    • Complaints that belong to NOCO Humane are sent to them for follow-up through their complaint process.
