Making Fresh Food Accessible
Access to fresh, healthy food is a cornerstone of a thriving community. At LCFM, we aim help families stretch their food budgets while supporting local farmers. Everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy nutritious, locally grown foods.
Reducing Food Waste
Through our Veg Out partnership with the Food Bank for Larimer County, we redirect surplus or imperfect produce from farms to families who need it most. By turning potential food waste into meals, we support local growers, reduce waste, and ensure community members have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. In 2025 alone, Veg Out provided 6,000 pounds of healthy produce to local households.
SNAP Vouchers
If you use a SNAP/EBT card, you can pick up vouchers to spend on eligible food items at the Larimer County Farmers’ Market. This allows families to stretch their food budget while purchasing fresh, locally grown produce directly from our farmers. It’s an easy way to put healthy, farm-fresh food on your table and support the local agricultural economy at the same time.
Double-Up Food Bucks
With Double Up Food Bucks, every $1 of SNAP spent at the market earns $1 to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables—up to $20 per week. This program makes it easier for families to access the healthy foods they need, encourages nutritious eating, and directs more revenue to local farmers.
Produce Bonus
The Produce Bonus program gives EBT cardholders $60 back per month to spend specifically with participating produce vendors. This extra incentive not only helps families enjoy more fruits and vegetables but also provides consistent, reliable sales for local farmers, strengthening the farm-to-community connection.
Helping Farmers Thrive
The Larimer County Farmers’ Market is committed to helping local farmers and food producers thrive. By providing a welcoming, high-traffic marketplace, we give growers a direct way to sell their products, connect with customers, and strengthen the local agricultural economy.
Direct Sales
Farmers earn income by selling produce, meat, dairy, and artisan goods directly to the community. In 2025, shoppers spent nearly $2 million, putting more money into local pockets.
Food Access Programs
Market Days, SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, and Veg Out partnerships channel additional dollars to farmers while helping families access fresh food. Last year, these programs contributed over $72,000 directly to local growers.
Marketing & Exposure
By hosting cooking demos, tastings, and seasonal events, we help farmers showcase their products, tell their stories, and reach new customers.
Community Connections
Farmers meet nonprofits, schools, and community groups that value local food, opening doors for partnerships, farm tours, and educational opportunities.
Sustainability Support
We encourage practices like composting food waste and connecting vendors to resources that help their farms stay resilient and environmentally friendly.
Connecting Community
The Larimer County Farmers’ Market provides a platform for nonprofit organizations and community groups to share their mission directly with our community. Each season, market visitors have the opportunity to learn about local initiatives, connect with organizations, and discover ways to get involved.

Harvesting Healthy Aging
Market Days for Older Adults is a community‑centered program that provides older adults with increased access to fresh, locally grown produce while also supporting Larimer County farmers. Designed for income‑eligible residents ages 60 and older, participants receive vouchers to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables at the Larimer County Farmers’ Market. Vouchers are distributed at the market on the first Saturday of each month from June through October.
This program not only helps reduce food insecurity among older adults, it also connects community members with local growers and strengthens overall community wellbeing. The initiative is made possible through sponsors, donations, grants, and a broad network of volunteers and partner organizations.
Why it Matters
Older adults in Colorado face hunger at higher rates than many realize, and programs like Market Days help ease the difficult choice between paying bills and buying healthy food.
Community Collaboration
Market Days is a collective effort involving local nonprofits, health partners, senior housing programs, volunteer groups, and county agencies. Together, they help expand market access, offer supportive services, and bring meaningful community resources to older residents.
