ALA Workshop & Resource Fair
Learn how Accessory Living Areas (ALAs)—also know as accessory dwelling units (ADUs)—can help expand affordable housing options while creating opportunities for homeowners in unincorporated Larimer County.
The workshop is designed to provide practical guidance on how to plan, permit, finance and contract to build an ALA. Additionally learn about the Backyard Boost permit fee waiver program and Housing Partners of Larimer.
The workshop will be held October 20, 2026 in the Big Thompson Conference Room on the first floor at Larimer County's Loveland Campus from 6:00pm to 7:30 p.m. The workshop will include:
- An overview of the ALA Toolkit, planning and permitting process
- Overview of Larimer County's Backyard Boost Program and permit fee waivers
- A panel discussion with opportunities for questions
- An ALA Resource Fair with local experts including lenders, designers and builders
- Light refreshments will be provided
Important Workshop Note: This workshop is specifically for properties located in unincorporated Larimer County. If your property is within city limits, this workshop will not apply to you.
