Looking for additional skills or training to transition or advance your career?  LCEWD may be able to help you take the next step in your education, training or career and help you learn a new skill, become licensed or earn an industry recognized degree or certification.

You may be eligible for training if one of the statements below applies to you.

  1. You are a veteran or eligible spouse of a veteran who is a public assistance recipient or low-income individual.
  2. You have experienced a recent layoff and were eligible to receive Unemployment Insurance benefits.
  3. You are either receiving public assistance such as SNAP or TANF OR you (or your household) experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19, AND in either case, your certificate will be completed by May 2025 in one of the following fields:
    • Healthcare certifications (Phlebotomist, Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Billing, Emergency Medical Technician, etc.)
    • Early childhood education (Early Childhood Education Certificate, etc.)
    • Other service occupations in high demand (Transportation, Firefighter, Certified Food Protection Manager, etc.).

These are basic eligibility requirements and there are other circumstances that may qualify you for training funds.  If you are not sure, please apply.

  1. Complete the Training Interest Form If you are a veteran, please complete the Veterans Triage Form as well as the Training Interest Form.

    Keep in mind.

    • A Connecting Colorado account will allow us to better assess your eligibility for programs.  Don't have an account? Create a Connecting Colorado account.
    • Additional information and documentation may be required to determine final program eligibility.  A staff member will contact you regarding next steps, if needed. 
    • Don't know what training you'd like?  We can help assess skills and interests.  Call 970.498.6600 or email

    • LCEWD doesn't provide the training but may be able to help fund your training.
    • Scholarship funds distributed through this program cannot be used for reimbursement and only for future payments to the school for your certification or degree.
