Branch Out is a free 8-week program for middle school-aged youth provided by CSU Larimer County Extension & Berthoud Community Library that will inspire and empower students to discover how time in nature improves mental, emotional, and physical health.

 

Why Join?
Branch Out is a fun way to spend an hour afterschool enjoying nature in new ways. You’ll also take home things you create and earn prizes for participation.
 
What You'll Learn

Master outdoor safety and navigation, explore local wildlife and plants, create nature-inspired art, practice mindfulness in scenic spots, and take on fun challenges that get you moving, thinking, and connecting like:

  • Nature Journaling & Mindfulness
  • Outdoor Safety & Navigation
  • Nature Art & Creative Projects
  • Tech-Enhanced Nature Exploration
  • Activities that Protect Nature
  • Nature Careers and Hobbies
 
Program Details

Dates: Wednesdays, September 3–October 22
Meet-up: Fickel Park in Berthoud, 4:30pm
Pick-up: Berthoud Community Library, 5:45–6:00pm

Each session is guided by trained facilitator, Christa Timmerman, MPH, Certified NOLS Wilderness First Responder, and Health & Well-being Specialist with Larimer County CSU Extension.

Christa brings her passion for hiking, angling, gardening, and outdoor adventure to each session.
