Learn important life skills and build team spirit!

The Family Consumer Science (or FCS) team is open to all 4-H members. You do NOT have to be enrolled in a Family Consumer Science project to join the team. 

Team members learn important life skills, including: 

  • Various tools & items you may use in a home:
    • Food preparation
      • Nutritional facts
      • Spices
      • Cooking utensils
    • Home improvement & design
      • Flooring materials
      • Window treatments
      • Fabrics
      • Home repair tools
    • Clothing options
      • Fabric types
      • Accessories
    • Other consumer items
      • Bikes
      • Luggage
      • Smoothies
    • How to apply their knowledge in a variety of situations

Members can participate in a variety of fun competitions, including:

  • FSC Bowl
  • FSC Skill-a-thon
  • Consumer Decision Making

Senior 4-H members can qualify for the FCS classic, a national competition held each year in Denver, CO in January.
