Establish a culture in which employees are informed, heard, and connected to be able to carry out their job duties in support of both department and county goals and objectives.

INFORMED:

Provide employees with the information they need to complete their job duties, awareness of programs and benefits to help them make educated decisions as it relates to their employment, and a clear understanding of their contribution to the organization.

Projects and Tasks:

The purpose of the Internal Communication Strategy & Implementation Plan is to create and streamline the communication process and procedures for all Larimer County employees. Streamlined and proactive communication leads to a more informed team, a faster decision making process, and an overall more productive environment.

Projected Timeline: February - July 2021

In order for the most important information to be seen and addressed first, it is recommended that Larimer County adopt the suggested policy that divides communication into three sections titled Priority Communication, Secondary Communication, and Passive Communication.

An internal communication team will offer continuous support, help in planning out the internal editorial calendar, will help brainstorm possible outreach opportunities, offer feedback from departments, and will be extremely beneficial for internal communication to stay a priority. 

Projected Timeline: August - October 2021, then going on a quarterly basis.

It is imperative for continued communication success, that all employees have knowledge of communication outlets. It is recommended that an internal communication summary flyer is redesigned and shared with all Larimer County employees.

It is also advised to create a video lasting no more than three minutes that provides an overview of internal communications. This video will be able to be shared with all county employees and be a resource for new employees as well.

Projected Timeline: October - December 2021, then ongoing.

The Bulletin Board will be utilized as the pull system of the organization meaning that all-important information for employees must be housed on this page. While the current Bulletin Board does have the necessary information, it is important to redesign the site to be more friendly for users to find information quickly and support the Internal Communication program.

Projected Timeline: August 2021 through the 1st Quarter of 2022.
