December 2017 Employee of the Month

Amy O'Donnell
Department: Human Resources
I started with the county about a month ago, and Amy is the nicest person that I've interacted with so far. She's gone out of her way to help me get oriented on the HR systems and made the extra effort to call me back to try to convince me she could help me resolve a payroll error after I told her it was not a big deal. She then resolved my issue two weeks earlier than I was planning.
Amy is a very selfless person and dedicated worker. She deserves to be recognized.

January 2018 Employee of the Month

Ken Brink
Department: Natural Resources
I am nominating Natural Resources Visitor Services Manager Ken Brink for Employee of the Month. Ken’s been with the Department of Natural Resources for a bit longer than two years, and is one of the best leaders I know. Ken wants the best for his employees while providing the best working environment possible.
In two years, Ken made huge progress in the Visitor Services Division. He employed leadership training for upcoming leaders within our organization, and started an education requirement for our rangers, while also securing funding for many of our programs that were underfunded or not funded at all.
Ken hasn’t lost touch with field staff he supervises, and often rides with each field member to stay current with their daily needs and barriers they face. He’s always willing to put on his uniform and support his field staff.
Ken also developed a visual presentation showing the role of a ranger and the key position a ranger plays in the natural resources world. The presentation has been gaining traction, and has been asked to present it state-wide. Ken’s outstanding accomplishments in the last two years truly make Larimer County a better place to live.
