May 2018 Employee of the Month

Kim Meyer-Lee, Health & Environment

Kim Meyer-Lee works hard to accomplish tasks beyond her duties for the benefit of the Larimer County Health Department. In addition to her dedication to the Communicable Disease Program, Kim has assisted in obtaining grants for the Consumer Protection Program. The grants permitted staff to attend a valuable training program, and assist with creating a new electronic inspection program for use in restaurants, schools, and child care facilities. Both programs increase staff ability to work better and more efficiently.

Kim has taken the lead on the Strategic Planning Initiative to improve efficiency, morale, and culture by helping assemble surveys and gathering data to improve the organizational structure and culture of the Environmental Health Division. She has created forums to generate ideas and opinions as the Division has progressed through the task of strategic planning.

June 2018 Employee of the Month

Ken Cooper, Facilities

Ken is one who leads by example!  Employees respect his professionalism and expertise, as well as his willingness to roll up his sleeves. He’s been spotted picking up trash around the Oak Street building and then sweeping around an entryway that had some debris that was blown in by high winds.

Ken clearly takes pride in his work as the Director of Facilities and has the attitude that no job is too big or too small. His actions empower people around him to take responsibility while also providing quality customer service by keeping the building and grounds in excellent shape for both the public and staff.   He is a leader people can look up to and strive to emulate.
