Thank you note to Timothy Hand from a community member:

Mr Hand,

As a mother of an addict that has been involved in drug use for 25 of his 45 years, I want to personally thank you for overseeing the program he is in. He just finished his jail time, something any parent is afraid of, but absolutely necessary. Although the majority of heroin addicts do end of stealing, lying, committing criminal acts to support their drug use, I still feel they need to do a reasonable amount of time for their own good. He is now in the second leg, the intense rehab program for the next three weeks. From there he will go to the attached program that allows them to work, get their endless legal mess cleaned up and learn the skills necessary to be a valued citizen in Fort Collins. I have paid for rehabs too many to count. I have done everything in my power to drive this addiction away from my family, where he is the only one that has this issue. For that I am grateful, but it's been a life I wouldn't want any parent to witness. To watch your child overdose, to pick up the pieces when they try to take their lives when they lose hope, is brutal. I don't advocate for the victim stance, I instead have found this journey has made me stronger, I had to be to keep him alive until he was truly ready and had the right conditions in place, for recovery. In a world where gratitude and taking responsibility is rare, I want to take a moment to thank you and all that are a part of this for your hard work and commitment to making our county and the people who reside here feel cared for. I have high hopes that this is the turning point in this long battle.

Best Regards,
Helen M Griffis

Thank you note to Pam Marcus-Bause from a community member:

Please accept this statement of appreciation for the work of Pam Marcus-Bause, Grant Project Special for Larimer County.

During my 2 1/2 residency in Red Feather Lakes, CO, I've served on the RFL Volunteer Fire Department and also on the RFL Fire District Board, currently as Secretary. As part of my roles within those entities, I have functioned as Grant Administrator, learning from the ground-up and having achieved some success in that capacity . . . largely due to resourcing by Ms. Pam Marcus-Bause.

Pam is a special person, viz., she takes her job seriously and is uniquely qualified. Consistently she has made the trip to be on site to meet with our Grants Committee, weather notwithstanding. She repeated has guided my work of applying for / managing grants, and our having been awarded multiple grants has been due, directly, to her efforts.

At this time, I'm preparing to move my residency back to Texas because of family issues there. I'll miss Pam . . . I was fortunate to have worked with her -- so are you. Treat her well!

Respectfully,

Andrew Short

Mark, Rob, et. al.

Thanks so much for your help in arranging and hosting the Thornton Water Project community meeting last night. I really appreciate Larimer County’s role in discussing the Douglas Road option, and realize that it puts you in a difficult position of having your project associated with ours. I believe attendees left with a better understanding of the considerations that go into these kinds of projects (both the road project and the pipeline project), which, as I see it, is an overall goal of our outreach program and the permitting process as a whole. So…. I’m calling it a great success!

Your Facilities folks were a great help in setting up the room, getting the AV system set up, and explaining how it worked. They really worked hard to get the rooms set up quickly. I’m sure you noticed that people started arriving at least a half hour before the scheduled “open” time, and the room was ready to go! Lastly, we appreciate the ability to use your facility for these meetings. The space you so kindly allowed us to use worked great, especially with the auxiliary TVs and screen to help the attendees see the material.

We look forward to working with you as our projects progress.

Thank you note to Larimer County Elections from a military/overseas voter:

Thank you! I've been very impressed with the bureaucracy of Larimer country - even the DMV, where I was surprised to receive outstanding service quality during my last license renewal. Your team is exceptional. Keep up the great work!

Thank you note to Larimer County Commissioners from a community member:

Dear Larimer County Commissioners,

I wanted to follow up from my original letter dated 9/12/17 where I requested assistance on a few problems near the Larimer and Weld Canal. These issues consisting of a huge dead tree that presented a safety concern, a problem with a leaking waterline causing stagnant water and trail wash-out problems, and a weed control problem on the bike/walking trail. I am happy to report that with your involvement, the dead tree was removed last week and the swamp area was mowed and the water line was inspected to see if a leak was visible. In particular, I want to pass my appreciation onto Rusty McDaniel, Assistant County Engineer who contacted Water Supply and Storage who will have their Superintendent investigate the possibility of a leak in the line running from Long Pond to the canal.

Rusty has updated me several times and encouraged me to update him if I see any changes occur. Although the water is still flowing (at a reduced rate), I feel we would have made no progress without your help and influence on correcting these health and safety concerns. Thank you so much for your timely efforts!
