This email regarding Case Manager I, Alyssa LaDuke, from our Options for Long Term Care team, was forwarded by Matt Bohanan, her supervisor:

Dear Matt,

I wanted to take the time to tell you what a pleasure it has been to work with Alyssa LaDuke.  Alyssa, has been the case worker for my mother (name removed).  She made the process of getting my mom the help I needed so positive and seamless.  She was always quick to respond to my emails or calls.  I can’t remember anyone that I’ve had to deal with in business or friendship that was so reliable.  I wanted you to know that you have an extra special person in Alyssa.  I have told her that myself and how much I appreciated her great service while going though the challenging time of caring for my mom and getting her the help that she needs. I wanted you to know this too.

Sincerely,

(name removed)

The Department of Human Services received this email with thanks from a client for Sue Krogmeier, Income Maintenance Technician II

I am writing this note in reference to the assistance I was provided on Oct. 4,2018 at 12:20 pm.  I am hoping this note reaches Sue and her supervisors.  I am sorry I do not have Sue’s last name.  Sue answered my call with courtesy, kindness and knowledge.  I sincerely appreciate her positive attitude and willingness to get clarification on a number of concerns.  Sue represented the LCDHS with professionalism and helpfulness.  Please congratulate her for her positive customer service.  Thank you.

Thank you email sent to Jake Wilson, Civil Engineer II about Terry Shores PID (Public Improvement District) regarding a community member's experience with a recent pavement project

Hello Jake - The Terry Shores neighbors and I would like to thank you and the Larimer County Engineering staff for a job well done on our road overlay project.  From the behind the scenes tracking of mill levy monies over the years to the estimating of costs on such a varied project - our expectations have been fulfilled.   Seeing the finished product has some neighbors calling me to say that they didn’t really support the PID beforehand but they’re now so thankful we stayed the course and now have a smooth new roadway.   Connell Resources did an excellent job for us.  Their crews were friendly, hard working and didn’t hesitate to do the little extra to make for an even better finished product.  I cannot say enough about their foreman, Lowell, who managed the crew and also worked right along with them - even after dark on Saturday night so as to get the last of the asphalt down.  I also wanted to thank Darrell and Chris for keeping an eye on the project and seeing that it was up to specs.  And you Jake, for taking the time to listen to my concerns and waylay my fears - even when you were away for the weekend.  So our hats are off to you all.  Thank you!!

This message was sent to Angela Myers via Larimer.org website regarding Danita McDonald, VL Tech II, and the Vehicle Licensing Department

Hi, just got off the phone with Danita at Motor Vehicle. Another example of helpfulness, efficiency and friendliness at that dept. I liked being able to renew the license tags by phone and called originally because I had not received my usual renewal postcard. Still haven't received it (heard there is a new computer system-I can relate,) but renewed two out of our three vehicles and will do the third after we get an emission test.

Dealing with Motor Vehicle in the past was dreadful (I've been in Larimer Co. since 1978) and it has been SO much better the last few years that I have gotten used to the great "public service." Thought you all deserved a compliment. Two thumbs up. Thank you.

Lifelong Colorado Initiative Launched by Governor Hickenlooper on September 18, 2018

PAFC in Larimer County members proudly joined an enthusiastic group of stakeholders from around Colorado at the Capitol to cheer on Governor Hickenlooper’s launch of Colorado as an Age-Friendly State. This community-led initiative, to be known as Lifelong Colorado, is a partnership between the state of Colorado, individual communities and allied organizations to help communities develop and implement their own age-friendly strategies.  PAFC and Larimer County were mentioned several times as groups that had several successful programs, including the self-directed volunteer team (SDVT) concept. The Lifelong Colorado project will provide a statewide umbrella of resources,  identify and encourage best-practices, empower and facilitate local and regional efforts and coordinate common public information strategies.

Colorado Lt. Governor Donna Lynne and Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers serve as co-chairs. The initiative will be directed by an advisory committee headed by Colorado’s Senior Advisor on Aging, Wade Buchanan, and including representatives from state agencies, AARP, Colorado Counties, Denver Regional Council of Governments, Area Agencies on Aging and current age-friendly communities, such as PAFC in Larimer County.
