Since we hire for a number of different positions, from administrative to the Jail, sworn positions or professional, there are a number of different steps you will have to complete for our hiring process. The information below will give you an idea of our hiring process for each position.

Individuals applying for employment with LCSO must go through a thorough pre-employment selection process. Convicted felons or individuals with illicit drug use in the past 5 years cannot be considered for employment. All applicants are required to have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age for Deputy positions.

Individuals applying for employment with LCSO must go through a thorough pre-employment selection process. In order to be eligible for a Lateral position, Jail applicants must have a minimum of 2 years corrections/jail experience, and Patrol applicants need a minimum of 3 years Patrol experience to be eligible. Convicted felons or individuals with illicit drug use in the past 5 years cannot be considered for employment. All applicants are required to have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age for Deputy positions.
