Renewal CHP Application
Before you submit a renewal application, please read the following renewal requirements:
- You may renew up to 4 months before your expiration and no more than 6 months after; after 6 months, your permit permanently expires and you will have to apply for a new one
- You must submit your renewal application online, and then come to the Sheriff's Office Administration building in Fort Collins (2501 Midpoint Drive) or the Larimer County Loveland campus (200 Peridot) to get a new picture taken. You do not need an appointment, and can come in any time Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm (except holidays). Your application is not complete and will not be processed and mailed until your come in for a new picture
- The cost for a renewal application is $53; there will be a $12 late fee added if your permit has expired and you are still within the 6 month permanent expiration
- The average time to process a renewal is 2-6 weeks
