Man Arrested During Child Predator Operation
A Denver man has been arrested for trying to buy sex from a child.
In early December, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office conducted an operation targeting child predators. Investigators posed as minors selling sexual acts on local websites and forums. Dozens of men responded to the listings; one man arrived at the agreed-upon location where deputies arrested him.
Malcom Cardelle McCrea (DOB 03/17/1988) was booked into the Larimer County Jail on the following charges:
- Patronizing a prostituted child (F3)
- Soliciting for child prostitution (F3)
- Attempted sexual assault on a child (F5)
- Cybercrime-solicits/offers to arrange situation which a minor may engage in prostitution (F5)
- Tampering with physical evidence - felony case (F6)
A booking photo is attached. McCrea was issued a $50,000 cash/surety bond by the Larimer County Court.
“Sexual exploitation of anyone is never acceptable, and crimes against children are particularly atrocious,” Sheriff John Feyen said. “LCSO will always stand up for the most vulnerable and fight to impact these crimes.”
LCSO would like to thank the Northern Colorado Drug Task Force and the District Attorney's Office for their assistance with this operation.
These charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.
