2026 Community Mitigation Grant Award recipients
Sixteen community groups from across Larimer County have been selected to receive funding from the 2026 Community Mitigation Grant Program through the Larimer County Office of Emergency Management.
Now in its fifth year, the program provides funding for neighborhoods, homeowners’ associations, and local organizations to carry out projects that reduce risk and improve community resilience.
The year marked a record level of interest with the highest number of applications and funding requested.
“Communities across Larimer County continue to step up in a big way,” said Director of the Larimer County Office of Emergency Management, Lori Hodges. “This level of participation shows that residents are organizing, taking action, and leading efforts to reduce risk and build resilience in their neighborhoods.
The community groups have been selected for funding that supports a variety of mitigation actions, including hazardous fuels reduction, community chipping and slash removal programs, development of community firewood banks, and tools and equipment to support wildfire mitigation efforts.
