Shooting Suspect Safely Arrested

A man is in custody for shooting and injuring a family member Thursday night. 

Just before 4:30 p.m. on September 10, 2026, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Loveland Police Department officers responded to a shooting in progress at a home in the 4200 block of Page Place (Loveland/unincorporated Larimer County). Upon arrival, they located the victim and the suspect, identified as Ralph Vaughan (DOB 06/19/46). Vaughan was safely taken into custody. 

The victim (an adult relative of Vaughan’s) was transported to an area hospital for care and is expected to recover. The suspect was taken to the hospital for an unrelated medical issue. He was released on September 11 and booked in the Larimer County Jail on the following charges:

  • Attempted Murder In The First Degree - Deliberation With Intent - Gun (class 2 felony) 
  • First Degree Assault - Family - Gun (class 3 felony)
  • Reckless Endangerment (class 2 misdemeanor)

A booking photo is attached. Vaughan was issued a $500,000 cash-only bond by the Larimer County Court.

These charges are merely an accusation, and defendants are presumed innocent until, and unless, proven guilty.
