"The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members." — Coretta Scott King

Spring reminds me that growth is rarely accidental. It requires the right conditions, steady cultivation, and – especially for communities – a shared sense of direction.

Following a deep year of development in 2025, we launched our 2026-2030 Strategic Plan after presenting it to the Board of County Commissioners. To most effectively do this work, we needed a roadmap – one shaped by community insights and priorities. My hope is that as you read our plan, you recognize your own voice; it was shaped by the needs and stories you’ve shared with us.

I invite you to explore our roadmap - and progress over time - on the new Strategic Plan web page

Our values of Stewardship, Community, and Partnership anchor us to what matters most:  ensuring behavioral health supports are accessible to all through a wide variety of pathways.

The plan is focused on six strategic priorities:

  • Operational Excellence
  • Governance and Partnerships
  • Community-Driven Investments
  • Behavioral Health Workforce Capacity
  • System Infrastructure
  • Communications and Public Engagement

As we bring this plan to life, one truth stands out: Collaboration is essential to improving community systems. No single organization can address the complexities of behavioral health in isolation. We are fortunate to live in a community that not only talks about behavioral health, but truly values it –  and each other.

Closing this letter, I am filled with gratitude. Being part of the team entrusted with stewarding our behavioral health tax investment and witnessing our system of care transform is deeply meaningful to me. This work reflects my belief in the strength of community and what I trust is possible when we come together with a shared purpose. Thank you for being a part of this work, too.

In community,

Amy
