The 2026 Candidate Qualifications and Access to Ballot gives general requirements for Larimer County elected offices and ballot access.

Candidate Petition Information

A candidate petition must be submitted to the Larimer County Clerk & Recorder's Office and approved prior to circulation of the petition. File your petition formatted as a proto type of the petition exactly as it will be circulated.  Visit the Colorado Secretary of State's website for sample candidate petitions.

Campaign Finance

Effective January 1, 2010, all reports previously filed with the county clerk and recorder will be filed with the Colorado Department of State.

Who's Running?

To find out who is running for office before candidates are certified to the ballot, you can search TRACER. To find candidates who are running for Larimer County positions, select "Larimer" for Jurisdiction. For state offices, select "Statewide" for Jurisdiction and one of the following districts:

  • House: 49, 51, 52, 53, 64, 65
  • Senate: 14, 15, 23
