4-H Record Books Information
Record Books Are Awesome!
New to 4-H & record books? Start here! This video will explain why record books are so important and why they are required for every 4-H member to complete. In the tabs below we have additional information and videos with other tips and tricks.
Make Sure You Have The Right Book
Did you know that Colorado 4-H has 31 different projects with similarly-formatted record books? Each project page will have a link to the correct record books.
- Most projects have additional, project-specific pages.
- These additional pages are usually after page 3, but before photographs & story, however, this is not always the case
- If you have additional questions about specific projects, please reach out to a county project leader or your 4-H Agent. They can provide you with specific requirements for your project's record book.
Questions about Record Books?
Attend one of our upcoming record book workshops on April 9th and July 2nd 2022.
These will be held at the Extension Office 1525 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80524. You can attend in person or virtually.
It's important to remember that projects require access to materials, supplies, or sometimes live animals. For example, livestock projects require youth to care for an animal that they purchase or lease. A sewing project will likely require that you have access to a sewing machine that you own or borrow. You may already have many or even all of the materials needed for some projects. If you see a project you are interested in, please feel free to contact us to see what materials are required. We can also provide resources/ tips for how/where to acquire materials at a discounted cost.
Choosing binders or folders for your draft E-Record and final E-Record, printing a Draft with additional pages, and getting started.
