Pingree Park Rd., Buckhorn Rd., and Pingree Hill Rd. need routine repairs and maintenance to maintain safe, reliable routes for emergency services, local residents, and visitors accessing National Forest lands, recreational areas, and the CSU Mountain Campus.
Without this Project, the County would haul gravel either from the County’s existing Strang Pit located near Horsetooth Rd. and Strauss Cabin Rd. in eastern Fort Collins, or from a commercial supplier along the Front Range. Both options would require hauling aggregate over 50 miles to the roads to be maintained, increasing costs, long-haul truck traffic, roadway wear and tear, and greenhouse gas emissions.
