LCSO does not provide fingerprint card services for civilian employment and/or background checks in Colorado. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has implemented the Colorado Applicant Background Services (CABS) program for these services. LCSO does provide the necessary fingerprint services for concealed handgun permits, court orders, and registered sex offenders.
Court ordered fingerprints are only performed at the Larimer County Justice Center at 201 Laporte Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80521. Check in with security from 8 am - 4 pm and they will direct you to the appropriate personnel.
Fingerprint services are performed at LCSO Monday - Friday, 8-11 am and 1-4 pm.
- A picture identification is required.
- Please see the fee schedule below.
- Fees can be paid by cash, check, money order, or credit card (additional convenience fees for credit card payments).
- Fees must be paid before prints can be taken.
- Fingerprint cards are provided, but applicants may supply their own card if needed.
- All jewelry must be removed from the hands and wrists to avoid damaging the equipment used for fingerprints.

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) verification is done on a first-come, first-serve basis, Monday-Friday from 8-11am and 1-4pm. No appointment necessary.
You must bring the following:
- The vehicle itself
- The vehicle registration or the vehicle title
- Your driver’s license
- Payment (required prior to service)
For VIN verifications conducted at the Sheriff's Office Administration Building, the fee is $25.
If the vehicle cannot be brought to the Sheriff’s Office Administration Building, there will be a trip charge of $50 to have a deputy complete the VIN verification at the vehicle location.
