Effective June 1, 2019, LCSO will no longer be able to provide fingerprint card services for civilians needing them for employment and/or background checks. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has implemented the Colorado Applicant Background Services (CABS) program for these services. Please see the CBI Employment Background Check webpage for more information.
LCSO will continue providing the necessary fingerprint services for concealed handgun permits, court orders, and registered sex offenders.
Court ordered fingerprints are only performed at the Larimer County Justice Center at 201 Laporte Ave, Fort Collins, CO 80521. Check in with security from 8am - 4pm and they will direct you to the appropriate personnel.
Fingerprints services at the LCSO lobby are performed Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm.
Fingerprint services are performed Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm and by appointment only.
**If you are more than 10 minutes late for you appointment, you will have to schedule a new appointment.**
Call 970-498-5100 and enter 94 when you hear the attendant’s voice to schedule an appointment.
A picture identification is required.
Cost is $20 and can be paid by cash, check, money order, or credit card (additional convenience fees for credit card payments). Fees must be paid before prints can be taken.
Fingerprint cards are provided, but applicants may supply their own card if needed.
All jewelry must removed from the hands and wrists to avoid damaging the electronic equipment used for fingerprints.
Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) verification is done on a first-come, first-serve basis, Monday-Friday from 8-11am and 1-4pm. No appointment necessary.
In addition to the vehicle itself, you must bring either the vehicle registration or the title to the vehicle and your driver's license. The fee is $20 and can be paid by cash, check, money order, or credit card (additional convenience fees for credit card payments). Payment is required prior to service.
