Red-tailed hawks soaring above, grasslands carpeted with wildflowers, towering rock formations - these are just some of the natural features to be enjoyed at the 3,007-acre Devil's Backbone Open Space. It has 17.25 miles of trail that connect to Rimrock Open Space and Horsetooth Mountain Open Space for hiking, running, horseback riding, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, observing nature, as well as enjoying close-up inspection of the rock outcrop and long vistas.

Located on the banks of the Cache la Poudre River, Lions Open Space offers day-use area picnicking, fishing, hiking, and biking. It's also home to the westernmost portion of the Poudre River Trail, which continues west as the Pleasant Valley Trail. This paved trail winds along the Poudre River through stunning riparian habitat, along a Frisbee golf course, and next to county roads to its end at Watson Lake in Bellvue, Colorado.

Three miles long and about one mile wide, this beautiful 1,100-acre reservoir is surrounded by 1,000 acres of public lands. It's a great place for fishing, sailing, water skiing, camping, picnicking, swimming, scuba diving, and rock climbing.
