A toddler has died after being rescued from a Fort Collins area waterway.
Just before 6 p.m. on June 2, 2026, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office, Poudre Fire Authority, and UCHealth EMS responded to reports of a child falling into an active irrigation ditch. The ditch, which runs behind homes in the 3100 block of N County Road 19, is fed by the Cache la Poudre River.
Larimer County investigators arrested two men for trying to buy sex from children.
On May 14, 2026, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office conducted an operation targeting child predators. Investigators posed as minors selling sexual acts on local websites and forums. Several dozen people responded to the listings, and two men arrived at an agreed-upon location to buy sex. They were met by deputies who arrested and booked the men into the Larimer County Jail. These suspects face the following charges:

On May 11, 2026 around 3 p.m., a large plume of smoke in Sedona Hills (Loveland/unincorporated Larimer County) generated numerous calls from concerned community members. First responders found the fire burning toward a ridgeline in an area with light, flashy fuels (dry grasses, weeds, and plant matter that ignites quickly).
