Youth Engagement Specialists

The Larimer County Department of Health and Environment hires Larimer County youth between the ages of 16-18 for the position(s) of Youth Engagement Specialist.

This paid position is a 6-12 month commitment at 10 hours per week. Applicants must be a high school student for the upcoming school year to be considered and must reside in the boundaries of the school district in which they are applying. The work will be a combination of in-person and remote.

Health Care AccessAccess to comprehensive, quality healthcare services is important for promoting and maintaining health, preventing and managing disease, reducing unnecessary disability and premature death, and achieving health equity for everyone in the community.

Housing and TransportationHousing is more than adequate shelter from the elements. Housing includes multiple characteristics such as the stability and security of the housing, the quality and safety of the housing, the neighborhood quality and associated social networks, and the affordability of the housing.

Social Environment and CommunityHumans are social creatures and social relationships and an individual’s place in a broader social environment can have profound effects on health. Social connections can support a longer lifespan, reduce anxiety and depression, and help support a functioning immune system.
