May is Older Americans Month, and the Office on Aging once again invites you to celebrate with us at its annual spring community event! The Answers on Aging Fair combines education, awards, and community connection for adults 60 years and older, caregivers, and anyone who wants to plan for their future.

The fair will be located at the Pedersen Toyota Center, formerly known as the First National Bank Building. Admission and parking are free. No pre-registration is required!

Discontinuation of Replacement of Stolen SNAP Benefits

The Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) has informed local counties that replacement benefits for stolen SNAP funds are no longer available. This change went into effect on Dec. 20, 2024, due to the passage of a federal spending bill that did not renew funding. Clients with concerns about this change are encouraged to contact their federal representatives, as the decision was made at the national level.

Child Care Assistance Program Changes Effective Oct. 1

Due to budget constraints, the Larimer County Department of Human Services will implement changes to the Child Care Assistance Program effective Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024. These changes will impact both child care providers and families currently participating in the program. The current CCAP enrollment freeze will also continue.

Starting October 1, 2024, the Larimer County Department of Human Services will implement changes to the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP or CCAP). These changes will impact both child care providers and families currently participating in the program.

Protocol & Notification Requirements for Falsification of Child Welfare Records

In accordance with the Code of Colorado Regulations Volume 7.601.81, the Larimer County Department of Human Services (LCDHS) shall maintain and utilize a written protocol regarding quality assurance and investigatory processes to monitor for falsification of child welfare records in the comprehensive child welfare information system known as Trails.

August is Child Support Awareness Month, a time to spotlight how children can grow to become healthy, productive adults when they receive the financial support they need to thrive.
