Federal Government Shutdown: Update to SNAP benefits

Due to the federal government shutdown, that began on October 1, 2025, the United States Department of Agriculture has informed the State of Colorado that November 2025 SNAP benefits can not be issued at this time.

  • You will be able to use your EBT card to purchase food as long as you have benefits on your card.
  • SNAP benefits will not be issued for November 2025 until additional information is received from the federal government. This is a change impacting all SNAP households and can not be appealed.
  • We do not have any further information about November SNAP benefits at this time.
  • If you need more food resources during the government shutdown, we encourage you to reach out to your local food banks or community agencies in your area.
  • When the shutdown ends, SNAP benefits are anticipated to go back to normal.
  • More up-to-date information can be found on the Colorado PEAK website: https://co.gov/peak
