Community Conversation - August 29, 2024

On August 29th, Commissioner Kefalas hosted a community conversation at the Livermore Community Hall focused on long-range planning, land use and zoning, and the development review process. The Meeting materials are available below.

Pre-application Meeting Scheduling

Pre-application meetings are currently being scheduled about 6 - 8 weeks out. Once you have completed the online request form, your assigned planner will be in touch to get the meeting scheduled. 

Larimer County received a 1041 permit application in December 2023 from the city of Thornton to construct a water pipeline through Larimer County and is now ready for formal review by Larimer County.

The pipeline will also travel through Weld and Larimer County.

Larimer County has received another 1041 permit application from the City of Thornton to construct a water pipeline through Larimer County, Weld County, and Adams County.

The 1041 permit submission marks the second attempt by Thornton to complete a water project to deliver a water supply to the City of Thornton’s growing population. The project is proposed to take water from reservoirs northwest of Fort Collins and convey it to Thornton via a pipeline.

A Water Master Plan is being developed by Larimer County which will become an element in the Larimer County Master Plan to help support Larimer County’s strategic planning for water, stormwater, and environmental flows.

Although Larimer County is not a water provider, the county might play specific strategic, coordinating, and collaborating roles to achieve water goals determined throughout the plan.
