Vincent Zamora was sentenced today to 40 years in the Department of Corrections, after pleading guilty to one count of murder in the second degree, a class two felony, and two counts of criminal attempt to commit murder in the second degree, a class three felony. Mr.
Sam Strait was sentenced today to the maximum sentence of 25 years to the Colorado Department of Corrections for distributing fentanyl which resulted in the death of a juvenile in July 2022. The 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office secured Strait’s guilty plea to Fentanyl Distribution Causing Death, a Class 1 Drug Felony on November 27, 2023.

Jorge Arreola was sentenced today to 32 years in the Department of Corrections, after being found guilty by a jury on one count of attempted murder, a class 3 felony, and a sentence enhancer of a violent crime using a weapon on March 27th, 2024.

On April 6th, the 8th Judicial District hosted its fourth Warrant Clearance Event and community resource fair. This event was sponsored by the 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, the Office of the State Public Defender, the 8th Judicial District Judicial Branch, and the Loveland Municipal Court. The community resource fair was hosted by Larimer County Community Justice Alternatives.
Tyler Zanella was sentenced today to the maximum of 12.5 years, with 10.5 years in the Colorado Department of Corrections with a preceding 2 years in the Larimer County Jail following a guilty plea to the top charge for each of his victims.
