Advancing Care Together: The 2026 Impact Fund Grant Cycle

As we enter our eighth year of grant-making, Larimer County Behavioral Health Services remains committed to investing approximately $3 million annually into our community. We continue to refine and enhance the grant program, based on feedback from applicants, grantees, and members of our advisory groups.

The 2026 Snapshot

What Has NOT ChangedWhat’s New for 2026

Fixed Tiers: Requests can be made for:

  • $25,000,
  • $50,000,
  • $75,000,
  • $100,000

In general, expenses must be allowable, necessary, reasonable, allocable, adequately documented, and incurred during the approved period of performance for the grant award.

Renewals: After a successful pilot year, the renewal process will be open to a few more organizations that become eligible this cycle. BHS staff will contact those organizations directly.

  • Those eligible for renewal must:
    • Be a 2025 grantee,
    • Have received and effectively managed five or more BHS grants,
    • Continue to be prioritized for funding by reviewers,
    • Consistently meet reporting requirements and objectives,
    • Have submitted at least four final reports as evidence that an ongoing program is demonstrating efficacy over time.

Competitive Spirit: We are proud of BHS' transparent and competitive grant-evaluation process that includes external reviewers.

Financial Documentation: The same documents -- think a valid U.S. tax ID number and profit and loss summary -- are required as in previous grant cycles. More information is available on the Accounting Support web page.

No Partial Awards: Our goal is to fund the full amount requested to avoid budget re-works. Check out our Expense Guidance.

Core Focus: We still fund six priority areas, from Care Coordination to Services in Diverse Settings. Learn more about Areas We Fund.

AI Guidance: A new application question asks how your organizations uses (or plans to use) AI tools. BHS has new AI guidance on the website to support you.

Geography: Programs must still serve Larimer County residents.

Networking Pilot: BHS wants to support grantees in ways that go "beyond the check," and that includes through a new networking pilot in 2025-26
Help and Support: Our goal is to ensure applicants have a great user experience. Check out Applicant Resources or email [email protected].New URL for Grant Portal: Bookmark the new SmartSimple URL: https://larimerbhs.smartsimple.com/s_Login.jsp
