This year's Citizens Academy will take place on the following dates. Participants must attend all classes.

The District Attorney's Office for the Eighth Judicial District is excited to join the national Prosecutorial Performance Indicators (PPI) project. This project will share data with the public about our work to measure performance in three areas: Capacity and Efficiency, Community Safety and Well-being, and Fairness and Justice.

The District Attorney's Office can speak at community meetings about topics like the role of the prosecutor, identity theft, elder fraud, juvenile responsibilities and rights, or other topics you are interested in. DA's Citizens Academy applications open

The 8th Judicial District Attorney Gordon McLaughlin is pleased to announce the fifth annual Citizens Academy. This free, four-week academy will be held on consecutive Tuesdays and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., October 6th to October 29th, 2026 at the Justice Center in Fort Collins, CO.

Announcing the 8th Judicial District Bias-Motivated and Hate Crime Hotline

The 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is proud to announce the launch of a Bias-Motivated and Hate Crime Hotline to serve as an additional reporting tool for our community. In 2025, the District Attorney’s Office received questions from concerned community members about how best to report bias-motivated crimes, how to ensure their safety while reporting, and how our office could support those investigations and victims.
