About the Perinatal Well-Being Coalition

The Perinatal Well-Being Coalition is a perinatal mental health and family wellness network in Larimer County that seeks to support birthing people, moms, dads, and their families at risk of pregnancy-related depression and anxiety. The current iteration of this coalition combines two former groups: The Pregnancy Related Depression & Anxiety and Mood Disorders Coalition (PRD/AMD), initiated in 2014, and the Nurse and Family Partnership (NFP) Perinatal Coalition, initiated in 2020.The Perinatal Well-Being Coalition, established by the Larimer County Department of Health & Environment (LCDHE), is a network of providers and community partners dedicated to strengthening the well-being of parents, infants, and families during pregnancy and the postpartum period. We work together to connect birthing people, mothers, fathers, and caregivers with the care and community support that foster healthy beginnings for both parents and children.

The Perinatal Well-Being Coalition brings together the history and expertise of two prior efforts: the Pregnancy-Related Depression & Anxiety and Mood Disorders Coalition (PRD/AMD), launched in 2014, and the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) Perinatal Coalition, established in 2020. Today, these efforts are united under one coalition to help coordinate impact across Larimer County.

Goal

The Coalition is focused on the full spectrum of perinatal well-being. This includes reducing stigma around maternal and parental mental health, increasing access to services, and ensuring families feel supported as they navigate the early stages of parenthood.

We aim to improve outcomes for families experiencing pregnancy-related depression, perinatal mood or anxiety disorders, and other challenges that can affect health and wellness during this critical time.

Membership

Members represent a broad range of health and human service fields, including mental health providers, nurses, doulas, midwives, OB-GYNs, pediatricians, researchers, and program administrators. Together, we share knowledge, strengthen connections, and expand the network of services available to families in Larimer County.
