Natural Resources
The 2026 grant cycle is now open for Larimer County Department of Natural Resources (LCDNR) Small Grants for Community Partnering Program. For 27 years, the program has awarded grants to communities throughout Larimer County using a portion of the Help Preserve Open Space sales tax for nature-based neighborhood and community projects. Since its inception, the program has awarded over $445,000 across 246 projects throughout Larimer County.
This is part of the "Get to Know" series at Ramsay-Shockey Open Space. Topics include ecology, history, and how Larimer County Department of Natural Resources manages this property.
Participants will hike the Shoshone Loop (approximately 2 miles). This hike will be moderately difficult, traveling over unpaved trails, uneven surfaces, moderate elevation gain, and may include mud. Most of the trail is shaded and pit toilets are available. There is no potable water.
We're excited to announce Canyon Edge Open Space is a contender for the 2025 People’s Choice Starburst Award! Thanks to the Colorado Lottery, this project will provide amazing ecological benefits and public recreation access in Larimer County. With Colorado Lottery proceeds giving back more than $4.4 billion to Colorado's outdoors, projects like this are made possible. Show your support by voting and help us win this prestigious award!
