Irene Josey was elected Larimer County Treasurer in 2014, after serving as the appointed Chief Deputy Treasurer since 1988. She is now serving in her third four-year term. She began her career in the Treasurer's Office in 1986 - gathering the knowledge and practical experience to assume leadership of the Office 28 years later. Irene has developed a strong knowledge of relevant Colorado State Statutes and knows how to apply the law to the safe investment of public funds, and to the effective management of the county Treasury.

The state of Colorado offers a property tax deferral program for seniors and active military, allowing them to postpone payments until the property is sold.
Search for Larimer County property tax information using an account number, parcel number, owner name, or address. You can also specify the tax year.

Per Colorado House Bill 24-1056, the Treasurer's Deed process has changed effective July 1, 2024.  Deeds will no longer be automatically issued to the lien holder, instead the option for Treasurer's Deed will be sold through an online public auction to the highest bidder.  This auction provides an opportunity for the property to be sold at fair market value as determined by bidding. At the conclusion of the auction, the lien holder will have the option to redeem for the auction purchase price if they would like to take ownership of the property.

If you are experiencing hardship paying your personal property taxes, please call or email our office at (970) 498-7020 or lctreasurer@larimer.org to discuss payment plan options.
