Multiple Agencies Continue to Respond to Alexander Mountain Fire

As of 7:45pm, the Alexander Mountain Fire was estimated to be 950 acres with 0% containment.

At approximately 10:38am on July 29th, the Larimer County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting smoke in the mountains west of Sylvan Dale Ranch. Larimer County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services was notified and a coordinated response began with multiple partner agencies providing assistance, including:

National Night Out (NNO) for unincorporated Larimer County and the Towns of Wellington and Berthoud is set for Tuesday, August 6, 2024. 

NNO is a community-building campaign started by the National Association of Town Watch that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. NNO enhances relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

A kayaker who was reported missing was found deceased Wednesday evening.

On Wednesday morning, at approximately 2:30am, a family member contacted the Larimer County Emergency Communications Center to report that their loved one had gone kayaking Tuesday evening, and was overdue to return home. The family member had spoken to the man on Tuesday afternoon and he had said that he was on the water at that time, but had been unable to reach him since.
