The Larimer County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit is a specialized division consisting of eight dog/handler teams.  The focus of the K9 Unit is to reduce the number of man hours spent on calls and increase the safety of officers involved on calls.

In our efforts to provide positive use of time for the inmates, we not only provide useful work options for inmates, but we also utilize some paid staff and almost 200 volunteers to provide educational, job skills, religious and other programs for the inmates in the facility.

We recognize that if we don’t try to rehabilitate and provide positive opportunities for those incarcerated, they are much more likely to come back into the community and re-offend.

Colorado Victim Information and Notification Everyday (COVINE) helps victims of crime get custody status information on jail inmates under supervision in the Colorado county jails participating in the program. In addition, COVINE automatically notifies registered victims of custody status updates.

The COVINE toll-free number is 1-888-263-8463 or visit VINELINK.
