Clarifications on Child Care Exclusions

 

  • Any child, student or staff diagnosed with COVID-19 or who is a close contact of a COVID-19 case should not go to school/child care and should isolate (10 days from onset-COVID positive) or quarantine (14 days for exposure to a positive COVID case). 
  • Individuals should not be kept home for usual symptoms they experience due to a chronic condition unless they are worse than usual. (an alternative diagnosis).
  • Individuals with COVID symptoms not due to chronic conditions:
    • If Major or Minor symptoms resolve in 24 hours they can return to school or daycare (Need to stay out an additional 24 hours if they had vomiting or diarrhea).
    • If an individual has minor symptoms only and they resolve within 48 hours they can return to school or daycare after an additional 24 hours being symptom free, but must wear a face covering.  
    • If they are ill for more than 48 hours,or if they had major symptoms that lasted >24 hours and can't wear a face covering:
      • they should stay excluded for 10 days from the date of onset or 
      • until an alternative diagnosis is obtained from a medical provider or 
      • they get a negative COVID test result.
Mako COVID-19 Testing CLOSED 12/31

The Mako Medical testing sites at Timerline Church, Foundations Church, and Estes Park Events Complex are closed on Friday, 12/31 due to inclement weather. 

 

During regular hours, wait times at Larimer County drive-thru testing locations may be longer than usual. Thank you for your patience as demand for testing increases. For questions or assistance, call 970-498-5500. Please do not call the churches for assistance.

 

Larimer County Aquatic Health Regulations (LCAHR)

Swimming is a fun way to stay active and spend time with family and friends. It is the responsibility of aquatic venue operators and owners, along with public health agencies, to provide a safe experience for community members enjoying public aquatic facilities. 

People should still limit their interactions with others except with their immediate household members. If you do see limited family or friends outside of your household, be extra cautious to stay 6 ft apart, wear face coverings, and limit contact (i.e. handshaking, high fives).

What are we trying to do by physical distancing?

Physical distancing, including staying home as much as possible, helps to reduce the spread of COVID-19 by minimizing how many direct interactions we have with other people. Through fewer close and direct interactions, there are fewer opportunities for someone who is ill to unknowingly spread the virus to others. The fewer direct interactions we have for a long enough amount of time, the less COVID-19 can spread in our community.

Larimer Health is trying to understand and track the spread of COVID-19 in Larimer County.  With limited tests available across the country, we know our positive case numbers represent only a small amount of COVID-19 in our community. 

This information is confidential and won’t be shared.

Positive test results for COVID-19 are reported to the health department for investigation and follow-up. Cases of COVID-19 are recorded as a case in the county where they permanently reside. Cases recorded here are Larimer County residents only. As we work through investigating cases originally assigned to and reported by Larimer County, they may be assigned to another county if we determine their permanent address is outside of the county.

Health Department Closures

All Larimer County Department of Health and Environment offices are currently closed to the public due to the COVID-19 emergency response. Contact the Vital Statitics office during normal business hours for birth and death certificates at 970-498-6700. Certificates can be issued via phone, fax, mail, or online. If you have questions about this closure, please call 970-498-6700.
