A Fort Collins man has been arrested for creating and possessing child sexual abuse images and videos.

In August 2023, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office received a cybercrime tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). NCMEC shared information about images showing sexual abuse of young children; possession of these images was associated with an unknown suspect in unincorporated Larimer County.

Eight people have been arrested for distributing dangerous drugs in Northern Colorado and Wyoming.

In April 2024, the Northern Colorado Drug Task Force (NCDTF) received information about a local drug trafficking organization led by a Johnstown man. Detectives identified Curtis Rogers as a distributor supplying methamphetamine, cocaine, oxycodone, and Fentanyl across the region. Through the investigation, they learned that Rogers had connections to a multinational drug trafficking organization based in Mexico.

A Denver man has been arrested for trying to buy sex from a child.

In early December, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office conducted an operation targeting child predators. Investigators posed as minors selling sexual acts on local websites and forums. Dozens of men responded to the listings; one man arrived at the agreed-upon location where deputies arrested him.

The application for the Spring 2025 Citizens Academy has closed.


The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the Spring 2025 Citizens Academy. 

This informational program will start on February 11 and run through May 6. Classes will meet from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday nights for 12 classes, and one Saturday field day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No classes are scheduled for the week of Spring Break.
