The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the Spring 2024 Citizens Academy.
The academy will start on February 13 and run through May 14. Classes will meet from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday nights for 12 classes and one Saturday field day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No classes are scheduled for the week/s of spring break.

A former Loveland para-professional has been arrested for possession of child sexual abuse materials.
In the summer of 2023, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children investigator received several tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). NCMEC shared information about images showing sexual abuse of young children, and possession of the images was associated with an unknown suspect in unincorporated Larimer County.

The Eighth Judicial Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been activated to investigate the death of an inmate at the Larimer County Jail.
Around 9:40 a.m. on November 24, 2023, an adult male was arrested by the Johnstown Police Department for felony drug charges. The Johnstown Police Department transported the man to a local hospital, where he was medically cleared for incarceration. He was brought to the Larimer County Jail; however, during the booking process, he began to show signs of a possible overdose and was transported back to an area hospital.
Investigators are asking the community for tips in a series of arson fires that have happened in Northeast Fort Collins. The arson and criminal mischief cases began in late October and have occurred in the TimberVine neighborhood and Collins Aire Mobile Home Park. TimberVine is in Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS) jurisdiction, and the Collins Aire Mobile Home Park is in the Larimer County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) jurisdiction.
