A former Loveland Police officer has been arrested for sexually assaulting a teen while on duty.

In late October 2023, the Loveland Police Department received a report of an assault by one of their officers several months prior. LPD immediately contacted the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and requested that LCSO investigate the case to avoid any conflict of interest. After conducting interviews and gathering digital evidence, investigators identified the suspect as Loveland patrol officer Dylan Miller (DOB 8/29/95).

Investigators Seeking Tips in Gallenstein Case

On the morning of September 10, 2023, Paul Gallenstein, 64, was located deceased on the Foothills Trail near Horsetooth Reservoir. The Larimer County Coroner determined cause of death as a gunshot injury. This is being investigated as a potential homicide. The Gallenstein family is offering a reward up to $50,000 for information that leads investigators to a successful resolution of the case. From Friday, October 20, 2023 through Friday, November 3, 2023, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office will have information posted on our website regarding the release of a Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) into the community. The information is being posted pursuant to Colorado Revised Statues 16-13-901 through 16-13-905 to specifically provide notification of the offender and to generally enhance public safety and protection. The information is being posted in lieu of a community meeting.

Before you submit a renewal application, please read the following renewal requirements:
  • You may renew up to 4 months before your expiration and no more than 6 months after; after 6 months, your permit permanently expires and you will have to apply for a new one
  • You must submit your renewal application online, and then come to the Sheriff's Office Administration building in Fort Collins (2501 Midpoint Drive) to get a new picture taken. You do not need an appointment, and can come in any time Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm (except holidays).
