The Burial Assistance Program provides payments to providers for burial and cremation services of low-income residents. Burial benefits are used to cover reasonable and necessary costs for burial services. The burial benefit is up to $1,500, depending on the decedent’s resources at time of death and total cost of all funeral, cremation and/or burial services.

Benefit recipients may be able to dispute actions regarding their benefits. For example, negative changes such as a denial or decrease in monthly benefit amounts, a change in program category, or even a claim for overpayments. Please review the notice of action that was issued as it provides detailed information about your appeal rights and instructions.

Records may not be released immediately upon request, and depending on the complexity of the record requested, can take 30 business days to process. Please submit your request form as early as possible to avoid delays.
In early 2021, Larimer County received federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding for Emergency Rent Assistance.
